Photographer's Note

This is simply incredible! Any photo I post of this large, massive fort will never do it justice.

This is the Taragarh Fort in Bundi, built in 1354.
The size of this Fort is well...massive, I wish I had a further away shot of it to show you just how large it really is. Its built along a hillside, and as large as this side you're looking at is, its twice as deep and long.

Honestly, its one of the largest man made structures i've ever seen. And this was built back in the 1300's!

Its abandoned, its dangerous to walk through and many areas of it are not allowed to have visitors.
I would imagine its the deeper rooms, far back into its interior that are blocked off. For example, there are seating areas with tables and chairs along the exterior fortress walls, and its relatively safe to walk through the outer rooms - the rooms/doorways you see in the photo.

There are amazing views of the city from up here, that's why they placed tables and chairs, just to enjoy the view of Bundi.

There are many bats flying around, i walked through some of the rooms, and amazingly some are well preserved, shockingly so. Perhaps they maintain some of them for tourists???? Of course I wanted to explore more of the Fortress, but its just too dangerous. Look how many levels there are, I'd love to get up top and explore, but I'd probably fall through the floors!

In the WS is one example of the maintained rooms.
