Lal Niwas means the red residence.
Made out of red stone two parts of this huge palace have been turned into two hotels, given out at different times cos of shortage of funds to maintain it by the royal family there.
A third part of it is still with the royal family and "Rajmata" -the Lady who rules (or just owns now) stays there.
This small sitting place was at the terrace, with an identical one on the opposite side. Loved the architecture but could not capture much. will post some more though!
