A vegetable seller in Chandan Nagar Vegetable Market in Pune. In the night farmers from surrounding villages bring their fresh produce to Pune and converge here. Wholesalers arrive from as far away as Mumbai and by midnight a dozen truckloads of vegetables are on their way to Mumbai markets. The remaining are sold to the local vegetable sellers and they sell in the early morning from 6 am to 8 am in an empty thoroughfare. by 8 am the the municipal cleaning crews arrive to sweep away all the traces of the market and by 9 am the last trace of it is gone and the thoroughfare is busy with traffic instead. it is the early shopper who catches the deals in Chandan nagar. Veggies here are sold for a fraction of their market price
