This is a sad photo. While staying with family friends in Bombay, I decided to make a trip out to Daravi, the biggest slum in Asia. My bag and camera had been stolen(then recovered) minutes after arriving in Bombay and I felt I had to confront a little bit of what had made me so angry. Walking in I was a little bit apprehensive of how I would be recieved, but it turned out that Daravi was a thriving city within a city. Undoubtidly a slum, yet a vast diversity between povertly levels was also present. This boy hardly reacted at all to my camera. He just maintained that same melencholy look on his face the entire time, then looked even more downtrodden as I left him. Surely his skin disease was related to the horrid sanitary conditions he was living amongst, and with the population almost reaching 6 figures in just that one slum, no-one was likely to care much about him. A sad photo for me.
