Photographer's Note

We went to Matheran in the month of August last year (2006). It was raining heavily through out the day. We trekked about 15 kms. It was an excellent experience of rain, sleepy trail & game of cloud & wind. This picture depicts that game. Immidiately after this picture taken, cloud behind the tree got dissapeared & a clear scenic beuty of westerghat was before us.
Matheran is a hill station in Karjat Tahsil in Maharashtra, India. It is the tiniest hill station in India. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is located at 18.59 N 73.18 E, around 90 km from Mumbai and about 120 km from Pune.
The name Matheran means either "forest on top" or "mother forest".
