Photographer's Note
The Ajanta Caves are located around 109km away from Aurangabad. A fabulous collection of murals, frescos, sculptures depicting the life and times of Lord Buddha and various stories from the Jataka tales spread across 27 caves. The art, techniques and aesthgetics can have an overwhelming effect apart from the steep climb and an arid and dry climate that seems to be a feature of the place.
The reclining Buddha in the last cave is said to be a star attraction.
