Photographer's Note

Dinosaurs were the dominant vertebrates on earth for more than 160 million (mm) years, from about 230 mm years ago (during the late Triassic period) until the end of the Cretacesous period (about 65 mm years ago).

This is Allosaurus (different reptile), a carnivore (meat-eater) from the late Jurassic period, say 155 - 145 mm years past. He enjoyed a non-veg diet being known to eat other dinosaurs, including stegosaurus. He was bi-pedal, designed for running, with long forearms useful in manipulating prey, and jaws with a wide gape. He probably hunted in packs that used a hit-and-run mode of attack, and then withdrew, waiting for prey to succumb to wounds.

I should mention that dinosaurs possessed neither hair, fur, nor feathers.

This photo was taken in the Indodra Fossil and Dinosaur park, Gandhinagar.
