Photographer's Note

Here I stand between the two shrines on the first landing looking to the north. With distance, I can see through the pavilions, looking toward the vanishing point. The sun's rays furnish a glow to the stone enhanced by the carving. Out of the photograph, but as with the Dada Harir Stepwell, the stepped corridor is entirely surrounded by a one-metre high parapet wall with a rounded topping. Access to the pavilion straight ahead is not possible as the ledge is narrow and management has placed spiked boards thereon to discourage the venturesome.
