Irrigation canal..., a photo from Goa, West

Photographer's Note

Rice is the principal crop of Goa. There are two growing seasons, namely kharif (or sorod ,in Konkani, the Goan language) and rabi (vaingan). Kharif is grown in the monsoon, therefore doesn't need any irrigation, but rabi is grown during the dry season, (November to May) The main sources of irrigation for rabi crops are the rivers and streams, tanks, wells, and also canals.
This is such a canal, built during Portuguese time.
Taken at sunset, five minutes away from my house...
I start a theme, about my Goa landscape pictures...

Le riz est la principale culture a Goa. Si les pluies de la mousson permettent le récolte d'été, nommée "kharif", en hiver seuls les champs irrigues peuvent être cultives, donnant le "rabi" ou récolte de saison sèche.
Les sources d'eau pour le "rabi" sont les rivières et fleuves, les puits, et aussi un petit réseau de canaux... Ceci est un canal datant des Portugais...
Photo prise au coucher du soleil, a cinq minutes de chez moi...

Je lisais tout récemment un de tes commentaires où tu mentionnais que tu ne peux voir un plan d'eau sans penser réflection, alors tu appliques bien ce que tu dis tel que le démontre ton paysage.

La photo est d'une qualité impeccable, d'une grande clarté et bien exposée, pour les basses comme les hautes lumières. La composition aussi est bien ficelée et notre oeil suit naturellement le canal pour remonter jusqu'aux palmiers les plus éloignés.

Note particulièrement intéressante.

Olá Laurent, nice capture of this double forest of palmtrees along the canal. They seem so thin and tall...incredible the resistance of those trunks. Another theme? Good thing to organize all the photos...now you need a theme to organize all your themes ;-)

Bonsoir Laurent,

J'ai attendu d'être chez moi pour apprécier ta photo car depuis mon bureau je trouvais le premier plan trop sombre. Et bien non tout va bien, belle gestion de cette lumière de fin de journée. Une image intéressante où ces palmiers donnent la touche exotique. Ce canal d'irrigation crée une bonne profondeur à l'image et les reflets sont du plus bel effet. Ne serait-ce pas une vache "sacrée" au fond à droite !!! Merci pour la note intéressante.
