Photographer's Note

Goa along with Daman and Diu are the smaller states of India, and those who were colonized by the Portuguese. Unlike the British, the Portuguese are ethnically mixed, as you can see from the photo. The state of Goa, is 50% Christian, the Portuguese came to Goa as merchants at the beginning of the sixteenth century and conquered in a short time. Later the region was part of the colonial Portuguese for about 450 years, thus becoming one of the oldest and most enduring colonial domains of history, until it was occupied by India in 1961.
