‘Tamil Nadu - Madurai - Gandhi Memorial Museum’

The museum shows India’s struggle for indenpendence from 1757 to 1947.
Madurai was the place where in 1921 Gandhi started to wear the dhoti as a sign of native pride.

The museum is housed in a 17th century Nayak palace at the other side of the river.
