Photographer's Note
The Kailashnatha temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is the oldest temple of Kanchipuram. It was built by the Pallava King Rayasimha in the late 7th century AD and reflects the freshness and simplicity of the early Dravidian style of temple architecture. There are a number of small shrines within this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi (Lord Shiva's consort) and their sons, Ganesh and Murugan.
Near the entrance of the temple, I found these two gorgeous parakeets (Shiva and Parvathi?) giving relief to the magnificent rock carvings.

Hello Sridhar,
Ha, I can't believe this survived the moderators, seems they delete anything with animals in the frame.
The parakeets sure do add a wonderful touch to this fine image, I like the way you have balanced the green in the background with the green of the parakeets. Very creative of you, the pupil is progressing.
Nice shot.
Cheers
Peter
