Photographer's Note

Pattadakal is an World Heritage site in Karnataka. It is one of the few places where one can see both Nagara and Dravida style of temples. In this picture too we can see the different styles of temple architecture side by side. This was the coronation place for chalukya Kings. The story goes that when Vikramaditya II captured Kanchi, he was so impressed with the temple there that he wanted to build one similar. Virupaksha temple ( the one on the left) is product of this desire
