Mysore - Stepping into a fairy tale

Did you ever feel like you were walking through a fairy tale ?
On certain evenings this is possible in Mysore.

The former seat of the Wodeyar maharajas is illuminated on Sundays and public holidays.
Not only the palace but also the walls that surround the grounds, the different entrance gates and some temples that are located within the domain of the palace complex.
For that, approximately 97.000 light bulbs are used.

As I previously said, I was in Mysore on the last day of December and on the two first days of January. Since new year 2018 was on a Monday, I could see the light show on both Sunday and Monday. I dare not say that this was due to good planning of mine :)
For those who are going to Karnataka, I would recommend a little planning so that you are in Mysore on a Sunday or a public holiday and not only on weekdays.

The main picture shows a covered walkway leading to the Jayamartaanda Gate, the main entrance gate.
On the back a part of Mysore Palace.
