Photographer's Note

As we were walking along Hampi bazaar at about 9.30 a.m., we saw this little girl doing her homework under the watchful eye of her grandmother (I presume !), who seemed to be the tenant of a sort of roadside coffee shop.
I suppose the girl was starting school later on in the day ?
The next day, we actually visited a local school and were amazed at the meagre means for education. However, unlike western children who are so spoiled and often don't appreciate their luck, we saw Indian children, eager to learn. They had to learn 3 languages at the same time, with 3 different alphabets : 1-Kanada, the language of Karnataka. 2- English, one of the two official languages in India. 3- Hindi, the second official language in India.
I expect a lot of people will be disappointed not to see the little girl's face. Well , her attitude shows how absorbed she was in her work. However, I have included a WS which shows her face.
Apart from that, you might think it's not a sparkling environment. But I didn't change anything to the photo, because I wanted you to see what life is like for the average Indian people.
Moreover, the little girl's eyes did sparkle, when she lifted them; See WS 2.

About the misty bit on the left : I am not sure if it's the strong sunshine or the steam coming from the little cooker on the left, or probably both !

WS2 : The little girl's face.
WS 1 :The 3 alphabets.
