Hi Arindam, wonderful and amazing shot.
is fantastic as that man pray in the middle of the street, full of people, and i think full of sounds and noise.
excellent POV and colours, great light and focus.
also the WS is beautiful!
Claude lived also in Italy, and now in Iceland, came from France and now he is in India...he's all around!
thanks, ciao

very nice moment you captured here, Arindam. nice opposition of people rushing around and the motionless devotee.
as for your ws, hehe one can guess who is who and the texture of the sidewalk goes extremely well with your compo.
he finds his peace there...

Arindam,
A very beautiful image. The way you have captured the contrast between the pause for spiritual devotion and the rush to meet worldly deadlines is wonderful.
Of course the praying man will be back in the world of hurrying and working in a moment, but your photo really embodies the brief respite he gets as he prays, as though during that moment time has stopped and all the cares that go with it have disappeared. Very nicely done.

P.S. Very entertaining workshop too!

Hello Arindam,

Yo Arindam!
I agree with everyone where, this is a beautiful contrast between whorship and daily life. Stop, pay devotion, contiune with gods help through this busy life. The motion with of the passer by is a great effect, I actually like it a lot how the man behind the man in red is holding his hand to his heart as a quick pay of respect. Great vision.
Take care.

abt the shot: statics and dynamics in one frame, well done!
great! must be day worth spending, meeting Claude.
love this post, reminds the one by Sandip earlier. The workshops are incredible. the "chain" photo (Claude-Arindam-Sandip) is worth completing, so Claude should find time to upload his.
This reminds me of something we had last week. Jayita was shooting, I got her and Kausik got both of us in one line. :) you'll all see them soon.
sorry, from home i could not rely on my patience (i have a slow net connexn) to read all the discussions posted by Sandip; so until tomorrow when i get back!
cheers'

Arindam, your shots amaze me. I recall Sandip's shot of the same day--I have a feeling the man is the same worshipper.
This is a greatly metaphorical work for me... the interplay between constant and movement, between the inner and outer, between eternal and transitory, between the noumenon and the phenomenal world... exquisitely done.
Is the man passing behind the praying man putting his hand on his breast in a gesture of prayer, too?
Bravo,
sasa

I think you may developing quite a fan club here in TE, Arindam, and well deserved too.
This is just a afbulous shot, suggesting as it doies (to me)...the transience of souls. The ghostlike movement of the chap behind enhances the devotion on display by Mr Redshirt. A lovely moment superbly captured.
Cheers,
Francis

Hi Arindam.
Fred

:)))))))) So, two trekkers in one picture, ha? ;) - a theme on TL, you know it?
Sorry, what's he praying at?
Very intersting compo, with the moving man an the "stoned" in his deep prayer one.

This is a technique Ive seen used very well in many photos. In this case you use it well too. Mainly due to the action of your subject. He is praying, giving this a mystical or spiritual mood. The blurs actually appear like ghosts, thereby really enhancing this mysticism.
You, Sandip and Claude together? Thats 3 of the best photogs on TE.
