Photographer's Note
Monk at Goumukh glacier, the source of the river Ganga, seen in this picture. The glacier is about 30 kilometres long (19 miles) and 2 to 4 km (1 to 2 mi) wide. The Gangotri glacier is a traditional Hindu pilgrimage site. Devout Hindus consider the trek to Goumukh to be a holy ritual. In recent times, it has been pointed out that the retreat of the glacier has quickened significantly.
This photograph was taken by our kalindi pass expedition member Dr.Meenakshi Sarkar.

Hello Arunava,
This is your first post with a man in your frame that looks directly toward you...and this it to me the one that best catch attention. I like the overall composition with the man on the left (rule of third well managed), letting him "breathe" into the frame. The colors are attractive. I particularly like the dynamic given by the red and pink "flags" plus the trident, all rising to the sky or heaven. Well done.
Best regards,
Pris.

A wonderful photo because of the combination of a great landscape photo with a telling human presence and great colour contrasts.

Hi Arunava,
This is a great shot. I like the colours surrounding the monk contrasting against those of the mountain.
Great POV and depth of field.

I dont quite understand the aspect ratio of this photo but you have composed this really well Arun,
as if the smoke billows from the trident, a mark of some superior power but temporal power..
intriguing frame
