Photographer's Note
Yamunotri Trek. Well paved road, iron fence which can prevent even a drunk elephant from falling down, millions of people for company, nice cool mountain air...even then this young girl chose to ride on the back of this hapless poor man, all the way to the top. I was appaled to see her so comfortably enjoying the ride when old people were walking up. Guess she noticed the disgust on my face.

Beautiful shot, Arnab, a real stunner. The POV is vertiginous here and that woman looking right at you...Wow! For the strangest reason it reminds me of a shot by Erwitt from Magnum.
Lovely work, man,
Francis

Hello Arnab,
this is simply stunning. The quality of the b/w jumped at me from the thumbnail. Even better in full size like this. The face is so strong, as is the wonderful background which gives the shot a sense of great drama and danger. She seems so oblivious to the world, o you, she looks lost in her thoughts, lokking right through you, and us. And that seems so strange, because I know I would be scared out of my mind up there on the back of an old man who has my life in his hands (or rather legs)

Well, a s much as I can agree with your comment - on the other side, the hapless poor man earn his wage that day. I am not cynical if it sounds like that. I've been at Sri Kedarnath last year and plan to go to complete Char Dam Yatra this year - I rode on the mule as it was too late and had the same thoughts as you.
Thanks for posting this one.
Best regards,
Davor
