Photographer's Note

The pleasant town of Munsiyari is situated in the northern part of Pithoragarh district. The capital of Pithoragarh district is ‘Pithoragarh’ which is popularly called ‘Little Kashmir.’ The easy going pace of this pleasant hill station, its cool climate, its coniferous trees and flowering shrubs makes a stay enjoyable at this place too.
Munsiyari is located at the foot of the main Himalayan peaks at an altitude of 2289 metres height. This enchanting town offers breathtaking views of the magnificent Himalayas. Munsiyari’s location makes it perfect for a close view of the snow-clad peaks of Panchchuli.
Uttaranchal Himalayas usually gets snowfall in late October, but incessant rainfall for the last few days led to cooling and snowfall in Munsiyari, Panchachuli, Hansling Nandakot and other Himalayan peaks. The hills turned white after two days of snow.
