Photographer's Note

The big slices of concrete are the slabs that are laid down from Kedarnath to Chorabaari/Gandhi Sarovar, as from Gaurikund to Kedarnath.

The cluster of buildings in the middle of the photo is Kedarnath area: the only building of black/grey stone is the Kedarnath temple (altitude: 3581 mts.) itself.

The path going upwards to the left takes one to the open air Bhairav temple.

The path going away from Kedarnath on the greens is the path to the Helipad and the path on the other side is the one used to reach Kedarnath from Gaurikund.

The debris with the streams of water going towards Kedarnath (two of the five streams of Mandakini emerging from the same Chorabaari glacier and merging together at Kedarnath) is a part of the Chorabaari glacier, monitored regularly by the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Studies.
