Photographer's Note

a little break for Dalits and some few shots from Amritsar (Golden Temple)

i was away Delhi for the weekend. (finally after a year ;) and stayed in Amritsar for two nights..
A fascinating place, fascinating temple..

this is a close spot where S.McCurry took this

the sacred tree is on the right side and out of the frame here..
i didnt want to include it somehow.. :)

Sikhs believe that if you pray wholeheartedly here under this sacred tree (and touching it) and take a dip in this very spot of the water tank, many of your health and mental problems will be cured..(especially leprosy!!) some of them even drink the water here.. (looks hardly clean, but anyway.. ;)

people are praying, touching the tree and taking a bath here in this picture. it was all done in such a devoted, dignified and silent way..

The pool of Nectar and Harimandir (Golden Temple) are in the background.

A beautiful place..

(i have a cropped version of this if you like to have a look.. :)
