Photographer's Note
A still of the Indus valley facing city of Leh on left, what a beautiful mix of diversification in the landscape. Just to inform the white spot on left is not snow it was the strong sunlight reflecting from the surface of the mountain, while snow can be seen on the higher mountain peaks behind it, and on the lower left is the Army area.
Leh was an important stopover on trade routes along the Indus Valley between Tibet to the east, Kashmir to the west and also between India and China for centuries. The main goods carried were salt, grain, pashm or cashmere wool, charas or cannabis resin from the Tarim Basin, indigo, silk yarn and Banaras brocade.

Hi Jugnu. It is a fine mix of arid and cultivated land. One gets a very good idea of the general topography of the area which includes mountain ranges and rivers.Excellent exposure and natural colours. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Just back from a tour of Ladakh. The way green contrasts with the arid mountains in summertime Ladakh is brought out very clearly in the photo.
