Photographer's Note

Pang on the Leh Manali highway is a small group of tents and houses where we stopped over for lunch. After crossing the two high altitude passes of Nakee La at 4739m and Lachulung La at 5065m both me and my vehicle was craving for some rest and refreshments. You need to get in whatever useful you can from this place as after leaving this place you have to cross the Morey plains which is a plateau stretching for about 50 kms. with no sign of human civilisation.
Lunch comprised of bread and omelette the same what I had for breakfast:-) that is the safest thing I found on the menu. The price was exorbitant but in places like these one cannot really worry about the price. I was just grateful that I was getting something to eat in this remote place.
Here there is a check post where you need to register yourself to enter the Ladakh autonomous region as a tourist.

An interesting little anecdote to accompany this fine composition. I like the oblique angle of view with the tents used to draw the viewer into the scene; something continued by the track as it exits the camp site. Excellent technical presentation.

Hello Subho,
There should be no purpose trying to argue about the price at a place like this, having no alternative restaurant next door. I would be so relieved to find anything at all that I would gladly pay any aprice asked for. This actually looks like a quite nice place where you can enjoy your meal outside and admire the view and bright sky while eating. This is a very exotic composition with superb sharpness and exposure.

Hi Subho,
You speak of this being a barren place, and even with these signs of humanity nearby, it doesn't offset the feeling that this is a far, far away place. The tents almost cower in the shadow of the mountains and the massive expanse of landscape. Very nice angle to take this from too,
Now I want an omelet too :)

Hello Subho - I think the logistics of running a tea shop in a remote location like this must require some serious organisation and planning and I can understand why the charges are high! A shot which goes a long way to impart understanding of the journey through remote and inhospitable terrain.

The distance between the tents and the mountains is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details, the colors of the tents and of the mountains. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

il tuo è stato di certo un viaggio straordinario sia per le emozioni che ti ha permesso di vivere sia per le località che hai visitato che sono tutte ad altitudini elevate e non certamente facili da raggiungere.
E' molto piacevole seguirti in questo tuo andare tra le alte vette ed ammirare le foto che ci proponio giorno dopo giorno.
In questa alla composizione si unisce la bellezza del luogo nel quale le montagne vedono solo la presenza di un accampamento per ospitare colori che si avventurano fino a tale altitudini.
Ottima anche la nitidezza unitamente a contrasto e colori.
