This is the statue of Indian Hindu Diety -Lord Hanuman. This is a 108 ft high statue installed in on Jakhu Hill (8045 ft above sea level), the highest peak in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. Though the statue was installed in 2010, the Jakhu Temple is a very old temple devoted to Lord Hanuman. It is said that Lord hanuman while searching for the sanjeevani booti (Life saving medicinal herb) for Laxmana, the younger brother of Lord Ram, rested here for some time.
The temple is known as Jakhu Temple and is visited by devotees in large number. The surrounding area and the temple is full of Monkeys. The tourists and devotees have to be really cautious while walking upto the temple...There is a road as well as staired path to reach the temple.
