Photographer's Note

Shot on top of Rohtang Pass on a very windy afternoon.

Shepherds take their cattle several kms uphill to the green pastures of Rohtang Pass between June and September. This was shot at round about 4pm when the herd was returning after grazing.

The image is blurred due to camera shake. I shot this at a rather slow 1/60th shutter speed at 300mm zoom, in order to gain depth of field by choosing a smaller aperture, thus screwing it up. Moreover, it was difficult to stand still due to strong & chilly Himalayan winds.

Altitude: 3,980 metres.

I shot this on slide film.
