Photographer's Note

Continuing my postings on the famous Qutub Minar.I would like to show the entrances and the surroundings before I actually post the minar (Tower).

Numerous inscriptions in Arabic and Nagari characters in different places of the Minar reveal the history of Qutub. According to the inscriptions on its surface it was repaired by Firoz Shah Tughlaq (AD 1351-88) and Sikandar Lodi (AD 1489-1517).

The first of the series can be found here. This is a similar entrance like the previous one but with a destroyed arch and dome.
Information is divided among pictures and all of them will be compiled at the Minar's posting . Let me know if this is a wrong idea to give info in parts. I thought, as a series this would work well.

The bright mid day sun didnt give any advantage to photographers.I had to do a lot of PP on this.I still don't know if this looks good but its way better than the original.
I first cropped some unwanted areas on all sides of the pic.Burnt the whole place up :) and got some details and contrast.Cloned shades on the ground touched up some of the sky , then manually increased the reds with the color balance adjustment. The pic appears to be slightly tilted to the right.I discovered that with reference to the ground, the comopsition is actually parallel.I tried to tilt the pic by 2 deg* but it only made the ground slant and took of the last available good looks away :)

A complete experiment IMO.Let me know what you think.

Thanks for your patience .Cheers.
