Photographer's Note

Did you know, it takes seventeen muscles to smile and forty-three to frown?

A group of school children couldn't hide their joy at being photographed as school got over, in Pedong. Although, nothing more than a small village, Pedong has a rich history being located on the historic Silk Road that once connected India to Lhasa via the Jelepla Pass.

But back to the present, this spontaneous laughter reminds me of some of my favourite quotes on why we should all smile more :)

Wear a smile - one size fits all.
Smile and the world smiles back at you.
A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
You haven't lost your smile at all, it's right under your nose. You just forgot it was there.
Smile, it is the key that fits the lock of everybody's heart.
Smile - sunshine is good for your teeth.
If you see a friend without a smile; give him one of yours.
Beauty is power; a smile is its sword.
Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.
A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks.
Wear a smile and have friends; wear a scowl and have wrinkles.
There are hundreds of languages in the world, but a smile speaks them all.
