Photographer's Note

My 99th post is an element of a series Arohi Summer Trek 2005.

.. .. we stayed at Mongpoo for a day and as a obvious visit, visited Rabindra Dham [a bungalow where Rabindranath Tagore stayed]. It was a government quarter, made for the Manager of Cinchona factory at Mongpoo. Mongpoo [abt 85Kms from Siliguri, 3275ft above sea level] is a very small village on the lap of the Himalayas. Name of Mongpoo goes very much with Cinchona plant, extract from which worked magically to prevent Malaria in the form of a drug Quinine. This is the bungalow where Rabindranath stayed in Mongpoo. Sitting on the balcony/lawn of the bungalow you can see the greenery of Himalaya [Kalimpong can be seen on the right and ]
