Photographer's Note
At Chandpal ghaat, Kolkata on occasion of Makar sankranti; I caught up with a big group of pilgrims from a village near Lucknow. The man on the left was their leader. On his left is his wife in the pink saree, and another couple.
Perhaps, this is religious India at its best. People travel thousands of miles to visit religious places, faith and humanity mix up vividly, irrespective of the barriers of caste and creed. They try to save a fraction of whatever they earn so that they can perform a pilgrimage in a given length of time.

Again we see fgures emerging from a fog in this wonderful group portrait, Arnab. The man's strong face staring right a your lens anchrs this shot, he is in a sense the FATHER of this scene.
Great stuff, you are really on a roll my friend...
Cheers,
Francis
