Photographer's Note

There is a custom in India (specially Bengal) which celebrates Brother's Day in Autumn. Sisters put marks on the foreheads of the brothers with sandalwood paste, kohl, ghee etc saying - "With this mark, I lock the door through which Yama may enter to claim my brother ..." They then draw heat on their palms from the burning brass or earthenware lamps (dia) and touch their brothers' heads to make strong their life-force.
A beautiful and touching custom that even an unbeliever like me cherish.
Nothing but cropping and a little saturation work added.
