Photographer's Note
I SHOT IT AT GANGASAGAR MELA(FAIR).FOCAL LENGTH=80MM.
Gangasagar Mela is the largest fair celebrated in West Bengal(INDIA). This fair is held where the Ganga and the Bay of Bengal form a nexus. Hence the name Gangasagar Mela. This festival is celebrated during January every year and is a major attraction for millions of piligrams from all over India.
The pilgrims come for a holy dip on Makar Sankranti (last day of the Bengali Month) Negha -Mid January. They take dips in the Ganges and offer water to the Sun God. The dip, as they say, purifies their 'self' and according to them, 'punya' can be obtained thus. When they are done with the ritual obligations, they head towards the Kapilmuni Temple situated nearby, to worship the deity as a mark of respect.

Dear Subir
I am very fortunate to write one of the first critics for you. This is a real meaning of what a photo must be of. The stunnnig object of red dressed woman in foreground is a real eyecatching image for lead the our eyes to background that is still amazing with the blue shirt boy and the boats. Also the mood of light is pretty diffused that serves great help to the picture. Magnificent work. My best regards. ihsan

a shot with a lot of sensitivity. i do have respect for this shot too. the composition is very nice, and the color tones and their contrasts speak loud of the environment.

Hi Subir. nice composition here; I like the balance of people working in the background while he worships in the foreground. I do wish the lighting was better when you took the shot, but not much you could do. One little thing is that there is a guy right along the right hand side of the frame near the top; he is in an awkward spot and catches my eye more than I wish. I ahve to say that I don't care for the gray frame; I tend to like white, or sometimes black. Nice shot.

Hi Subir,
This is incredibly good. Sometimes the fog can be a blessing in disguise and what better example than this. With the sky and the sea almost of the same colour, the only thing that draws the eye is this lady in red. Again the shawl of the second lady is almost the same coloured as the sand. The only thing I am not very happy with is the framing. Otherwise, this is as good as it gets.
Best Wishes

Hello Subir,
Beautiful and very well composed shot with the contrast between the front and the back of the photo. The colors only make this contrast stronger. Well captured.

Hello Subir,
a very nice composition with very godo POV and DOF.
The red colour offers a very contrast with the grey and I like the yellow flowers lying on the floor.
Perhaps you could cut the right part to delete the man which is on the right up side.

Hello Subir,
This is a really great shot..!! I wonder Why I did not notice this in the gallery..!!
in bengali " kaapiye diyecho"
THE RED COLOUR IS SO VIBRANT AND ALSO THE WAY THE COLOUR OF THE SEA MATCHING TO THAT OF THE SAND..!! I GUESS THAT BECAUSE OF THE FOG..!!
AN ELEMENT OF LONELINESS IS PERCEIVED BY ME IN THIS SHOT WHICH IS MAKING IT ALL THE MORE BEAUTIFUL..
FRAMING WAS A MATTER OF CONCERN BUT THEN IT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY SOMEONE WHO IS BEST IN THE BUSINESS..!!
REGARDS,
INDRO

Hi Subir,
What attracts me here is the colour amongst the foggy backdrop. Great one from you. May be, you could crop the boy on the extreme right of the frame which is a bit distracting.

Subir: the contrast here really makes your pic, but I think your reds are a little overdone - at least to this eye. Fine otherwise. regards, c

Dear Subir,
Excellent or what should I say. The young boy with the blue shirt has stood out from the dreamy misty background in contrast with the red at the right position of 3rd.
Beautiful shot.

Hi Subir,
First thank you for passing by my site! It makes me discover you and that is just great.
I think this is superb. I like everything in it. The perspective with that fine tuned grey tone up to the sky, the touch of blue of the boy walking, the boats, and the magnificent figure of the woman concentrated in the ritual. That red, just wondrous. The delicacy of her hands, the simplicity of her pose.
Great work, I'll be back!

It is a very good composition whre the red color catches the eye. Then the boy is a perfect counterpart. I suppose you made some photoshop adjustments in some area, but the edges are a bit visible, and this could maybe be improved.

Amazing contrast - or should we say balance - between the misty and grey beach and fishing boats and the flaming red of the women's dress.
And at the same time an illustrion of worshipping. Simple but excellent image.
