Photographer's Note

Shot taken at Digha sea beach during Monsoon season when the sea is at its fiercest best.
The high tide is coming creating huge waves dwarfing the tourists who are watching the waves in apt attention. They better watch because each year on an average around 20-30 tourists drown in the rough seas during the monsoon season. There are no life guards to look after the bathers. Some were appointed by a local organisation, but now they have stopped working due to the high risk and meagre payments.
Here the long lens has created a kind of perspective, the waves are actually breaking a few meters away from this group of bathers.
Thanks for looking.
