Photographer's Note

If you have lived for some considerable time in Darjeeling then you will not fancy missing the school children and their way of life.

The schools are an important part of the lives of hills. Several jesuits institutions imparting quality education are the forerunners here. Many government and private institutions are present in ample numbers too. These schools open early morning and the sight of colorful uniformed students in clusters and groups walking their way to the schools make for an awesome dislay of literacy power groing in India and esp the hills.

Many of these students travel quite some distance to reach school, some even walk 10, or even 15 + kms. The burden of having to walk that long a distance has some consolation too, the green forests, the fresh air, and the chirping of birds all comes as a consolation apart from the gossip and fun that these people have on their daily travel.

About the capture:
Here we have a bunch of students on their way back home from school. The sight of the hanging bridge suspended over by metal cables and boards to walk on with the river ' Rangeet' below it and the wild green forest on the backdrop makes for a nice frame.

Check the larger pic for a bigger view of the suspended bridge.
The architecture of the suspended bridges makes for an awesome photographers treat.
I found it delightful.
Hope you like it,
