This village is in the Darjeeling district the Northern part of the West Bengal. The name of this village is Garlang (Peshok T.E.) actually on the name of Tibetan. It was earlier not much developed but now and then it is gradually developing in the sense- education, economy and social-cultural life.
Most of the people are from Tibeto-Burman and little bit Indo-Aryan family- like, Rai, Limbo, Lepcha, Gurung, Sunuwar, Manger, Tamang(Majority) and Sharma, Shedule caste live here. But their communicating language is Nepali as lingua franca. That is why their own language is in endangered.
This is 30 km away from the Darjeeling town and 10 km away from the Teesta(Teesta, actually it is a river as well as small Bazaar also).
