A Touch of Rural Bengal-VIII

Here's another image from the rural Bengal.This time from Poush Mela in Shantiniketan,Bolpur.Bolpur is famous for several reasons -Rabindranath Tagore,Shantiniketan,Amartya Sen and Poush Mela.

Poush Mela (Bengali: is an annual fair and festival that takes place in Santiniketan, in Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal, marking the harvest season. Commencing on the 7th day of the month of Poush, the fair officially lasts for three days, although vendors may stay up until the month-end. The key characteristic of this fair include live performances of Bengali folk music, notably baul music.

À ce que je vois c'est la fête et bien présentée avec de merveilleuses couleurs. Ça me rappelle de bons souvenirs quand j'étais jeune et il y a longtemps que je n'ai pas embarqué dans une grande roue. Je crois que j'ai passé l'âge.

Nice and colorful funfair scenery, vivid and vibranr tones.
The big-wheel is an eyes cating element, yet I was looking at people as well, the ladies with diff. colors of their saries. Joly ambiance, well collected inspite the low light prevailed.

Of course, this is a colourful scenery provided by a mobile circus that reminds me a sad souvenir, though, because I lost much money by then when I was adolescent in the 'roulette game'!

This is a great daily life shot. The people in the foreground add life and interest for the shot. The placement of the Ferris wheel is nice drawing the eye across the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has nice sharpness.
