Photographer's Note
Bishnupur is a city in Bankura District in the state of West Bengal, India. It is famous for its terracotta temples. The land is also called Mallabhum after the Malla rulers of this place. The Malla rulers were Vaishnavites and built the famous terracotta temples during the 17th and 18th century at this place. The terracotta temples here are the best specimen of the classical style of Bengal architecture.
All the temples are modeled on thatched huts with lowering roofs and square base which lend rural beauty and symmetry with local surroundings, typical of Bengal.
This is a glimpse of Shyama-Rai temple. The big circular panel of this temple is surrounded with Krishna leela (dance of Krishna with gopis) in two lines.
Bhagavata Purana which deals with life and achievement of Lord Krishna has been a perennial source of inspiration for builders, artisans and craftsmen.

Hello Avishek
The details of terracota are brilliant...I think a sbit of sharpness and curves will not do any harm. Good framing achieved here with the ornated door and the curved top which is the hallmark of Bishnupur gharana of architecture!
Regards
Angshu
