Photographer's Note

Welcome to the Puja Restaurant, Bodhgaya. The restaurant is well situated, being opposite the Tibetan Temple of the Karmapa Lama (one of them; there are two). So ,it can serve pilgrims and visitors to this temple. The temple is quite a way out of the town, so it has no competition. It also supplies snacks and soft drinks to the hoards of boy novices, who are educated in this temple. I did not try Mr. Kumar's cuisine, but I note that he caters for the Chinese tourists as well. Overseas Chinese, that is, for, they flock to this temple. Mainland Chinese would not dare to come. The Karmapa Lama (both of them) is regarded as a traitor by the communist government.Mr. Kumar seems to be an enterprising business man; I hope he is successful. The style of architecture could be called ‘Asian Ad Hock’. It is a style very common in the third world.
