Photographer's Note
Rustaveli Avenue is an avenue located in the center of Tbilisi named in honor of the medieval Georgian poet Shotá Rustaveli. The avenue begins at Liberty Square and runs for about 1.5 kilometers before joining an extension of Kostava Street.
Rustaveli Avenue is considered the most important road artery in Tbilisi due to its large number of government, public, cultural and business buildings that are located along the avenue. The Parliament of Georgia, the Kashveti Church, the National Museum of Georgia, the Paliashvili Opera, the Rustaveli State Theater Academy, the Georgian Academy of Sciences and the Tbilisi Art Gallery, among others, are all located in Rustavelis Gamziri.
In 1989, hundreds of thousands of Georgians gathered in front of the Government Palace on Rustaveli Avenue. A crackdown by the Soviet military killed many protesters in the April 9 Tragedy.

Hello Luis,
There are lots of important historical building along, or close to, Rustaveli Avenue. These atlantes are very impressive, but I have an even stronger memory of the many small statues found along the street. Did you notice them? They showed city workers of older days, like garbage collectors, sweepers and others working in the streets. I took a number of photos but I haven't posted any. Of course these figures are much more impressive and you took the photo from a good side view.
Best regards,
Gert

Hola Luis,
Very attractive entrance with four giants guarding it. It reminds me a bit the photo which I recently posted from Ukraine:
https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Ukraine/West/Lvivska//photo1602472.htm
I like here also the inscription in Georgian alphabet. It is always interesting to see that, so exotic to us and something so very natural over there.
It looks like it was a rainy day because the pavement is wet and so are the shoulders of the men.
Very well seen and captured,
M

luis
eu vi estátuas parecidas em algumas cidades russas, imagino que essas da Geórgia foram criadas na mesma época, quando tudo fazia parte do mesmo império. linda vista com a repetição das estátuas em evidência.
um abraço

Ciao Luis,in these days when we talk so much about the war in Ukraine, it was useful to remember in your notes also what the Russians did here in the past, today Georgia would seem independent but we know very well that it is still very much conditioned by Russia, especially under the energy point of view. Beautiful capture from the main street of Tbilisi, an original and winning perspective. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Luis,
The Russians seem to cause problems wherever they go. Good sharpness and excellent choice of a vertical format. I like the repetition of the elegant Atlas statue columns. Tfs!

Two pers of identical statues mounted on the facade in the city center, Luis.
Reading the note, understood this avenue has a piece of recent history.
My best regards,
Ike

Hi Luis
Almost looks like 4 Atlases holding up the world, or at least, the building. A good photo of this unusual structure.

Hello Luis,
I do remember the busy Rustaveli Avenue but not these colossal statues at the entrance of this building.
These giant figures seem to be heartbroken.
Excellent clear and sharp capture.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Luis, Nice view of these hard-working men in Rustaveli Avenue. This part of Tbilisi is rarely shown on TE. Fine composition.

Hi Luis
you know how to compose a scene, I like how you have thought this one through. its an effective way to create depth, and the far right side is the leading point that draws us in initially. Good one. cheers
