Photographer's Note

Lunchtime in Tianlong, a Han village in Guizhou Province. The Han people are the largest ethnic group on the planet, making up approximately 92% of the population of China. Their rich history stretches back for millennia. Tianlong's old stone buildings date from the 14th century when it grew from a garrison outpost for troops of the Ming emperors guarding the strategic passage into neighbouring Yunnan province.
