Photographer's Note

This is my second shot of Erhai Lake, taken when I visited the place last winter.

Erhai Lake is and one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. The name in Chinese means, 'sea shaped like an ear'. It's not a huge lake like the Great Lakes of North America (it covers an area of 250 square kilometers} and you can drive around it in half a day.

But what it lacks in size it makes up with its sheer beauty. On a sunny day, its waters shimmer like crystal and the snow capped Mt. Cangshan can be be seen reflected on its surface.

This shot is of one of many the Bai villages that lie along the waters edge. This place is really worth a visit, because of the rare beauty of the lake and its surrounding scenery.
