Photographer's Note

10.25 a.m. - This is a classic shot of Changhai (Long Lake) which you must have seen before but I just want to show it for its beauty and the mood on the day I was there. This lake is situated towards the end of the Zechawa gully which is one of the two gullies which branched out in the shape of a ‘V’ from the main Nuorilang Gully. It is 4.5km in length and is the largest lake with the highest elevation above sea level in Jiuzhaigou. The cypress in the foreground is in the shape of a one-armed old man who fought the black dragon and lost his left arm. Since then he is the keeper of the lake.
