It was Sunday morning and I had contracted a city tour, but this was a mistake. The main museum of Shanghai was in the list but there was a so long line and the guide asked us if we would like to spent one hour waiting in the line, dealing with a mob inside after. Most of us said not, but a couple became furious.
This is the area around People's Square, it was a hippodrome during the days when the foreign used the town as a base for trade and colonialism. Mao transformed the space in a square and we can see many interesting modern skyscrapers around, that big roof is part of a big theater.

Era domingo de manhã e eu havia contratado um guia para conhecer o centro de Xangai, um erro. Paramos na primeira atração da lista e havia uma fila imensa na porta do museu e o guia nos perguntou se queríamos esperar uma hora na fila e depois ter que empurrar uma multidão dentro do museu. A maioria disse que não, mas um casal ficou furioso com isso.
Aqui vemos uma área da Praça do Povo, esse local era antigamente um hipódromo de milionários estrangeiros que faziam negócios na China e quando Mao tomou o poder o transformou numa praça. Agora podemos ver muitos arranha-céus novinhos e bem interessantes ao redor e o telhado curvo que aparece na foto é do maior teatro da cidade.
