Photographer's Note

This is a portrait of 'Hui' market vendor, her facial features drew attention and I believe that there's so much inherent beauty in the elderly that we actually don't look at all the time. All the wrinkles probably shows her life experience and hardest work who had lived the most, an interesting mosaic about life and a small place to tell a human story.

In this picture setting was set to widest possible aperture to keep the background soft uncluttered, and his was the result I aimed for from a quick bursts of shots.

Taken in the old quarter of Songpan, an attractive relaxed ancient walled town at 2900m elevation, located in Aba County, North Western Sichuan. Founded in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) as a military garrison town and strategically it guards the neck of a valley built up against a stony ridge to the west and surrounded on the remaining three sides by 10 metre high stone walls. There are four major ethnics who live in harmony within the walls; The Tibetan Khampas, Hui Muslims, Qiangs and Hans.

In this shot although her eyes are not the most loveliest but she made me especially very pleased...
