Photographer's Note

The joy of the open road along Karakoram Highway 5000 m elevation really was something I had here, was very dry plus very much shortage of oxygen. Amazing at how empty the road was for several kms without meeting another car as my eyes were always hunting for a good scene with deep colours traversing the rugged landscape of the Karakoram mountain range.

It was my good luck that the weather was good otherwise this section of road I was told, remains always very foggy and sometimes snow blizzard starts even in the spring. This sort of shot en route to Taxkorgan, has been posted before but I really liked the sense of open space and the shape of the snow peaks in the distance with the road leading to them, and this picture brings it back to me.

Hope you enjoy.
