Photographer's Note

Visit to the Larku Villiage in 2005...this village is located not far away from the Sichuan Tibet Highway, near the Tibetan town named Ranwu to be exact....I have visited this place for quite a few times, time seems to be still here...nothing had changed last few years..however, this time I met lots of 4x4 vehicles hired by tourists...wow, this place became very famous because of some articles and documentry posted on mass media particularly the Chinese National Geographics Mag's feature about the now well known larku glacier (which is only few kilometers up the mountain from the village). This place may beome totally differnet for my next vist (scheduled in Sept to explore the mostly unknown eastern Himalaya range)....

well I m not sure about the national geographics (and the readers as well)kind of attitude, especially the chinese ones...they tend to mess beautful peace up sometimes, somehow...every time they post a new feature, they get the place crowded with unconscious visitors...I know that might be because of tourism is becoming hot in China and the local people just want to make money out of it...however, I m sure the NG sort of media will earn more respect if they contribute more in protecting and reserving those gems rather than simply introduce them to the public then just go and hunt for somewhere else...come on the mass media and us tourists, lets get educated and be gental to our mother earth!

Aboriginal gets commercial....again, shell we blame or shell we clap?
