Photographer's Note

Yuan Yang is known for its divine sunrises and sunsets, which many photographers attempt to capture. So we hired a van out to Duo Yi Shu from Bada, only about 10km back, and arrived at the shooting site at about 5:30 AM. We were fortunate to be the first there; shortly afterwards a steady stream of Chinese tourists and photographers with huge 6X6, 6X17, and you name it cameras arrived, filling up the viewing position. Sadly, this morning was not very spectacular, the Sun being hidden by some clouds as it came up. We didn't get the most incredible views the site could have offered, but the landscape is incredible nonetheless. This is a detail of what is a huge mosaic of terraces.

I changed a few things in Photoshop to bring it out, but I'm still not very happy with the colours - especially the blue area in the top-left.
