I spotted some locals seated at tables in a street passing the time of day playing 'mahjong' near a parking lot in Kunming old quarter. Just a harmless little game for a little bit of extra spending money perhaps but a scene like this is very common community event. Notice that everyone looked to be taking the game very seriously with the passersby looked on.

A simple sneaky shot about everyday life in the street...

Hello Abmdsudi, an interesting shot of everyday life in Kunming. This is obviously a common event as they bring their small stools and table so that they can play.
Having played mahjong many years ago, I remember that it is a game where concentration is essential.
I like your composition with the players off centre, and the background of motorcycles.

Hello Abmdsudi,

In China it is Mahjong, in Greece Backgammon, and possibly other games in other countries. But it is a fun way to relax and, as you say, taken seriously. (Why would anyone play if they didn't want to win!)

This is a quick, unprepared shot but it is a good record of pastimes and settings. Presumably this is taking place in a parking lot. Nearby, we can glimpse a parasol, maybe for a street cafe, and beyond, the roofs of closely packed houses.

A great daily life photo of the mahjong playing people around the low table and in front of the parking lot full of scooters. You placed them very well on the right hand side. The red and orange elements on the white wall make a good backdrop as well.
