Bamboo scaffolding !, a photo from Hong Kong, South

Photographer's Note

We are not used to this in our regions where meta tubes are used for scaffolding; but in Asia, it is a tradition to mount scaffolding in resistant bamboo. And even for buildings like skyscrapers, like here on the main street of Hong Kong, the famous and very busy Nathan road.

I crossed this same road and I have images of another building covered with these bamboo structures. nice double view showing the general view and the closer details.

Jean, the bamboo, a traditional building material contrasts with Hong Kong opulence. This wood is used on the construction sites for its resistance, its elasticity and its cheap price. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Bonsoir Jean,

La même chose au Québec, les échafaudages sont en métal. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des échafaudages en bambou. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Hello Jean,

Bamboo is surprisingly strong and much cheaper than steel so it's really no surprise to see it used for scaffolding in Asia. Tfs!

That's funny, I was staying a couple of nights on Nathan Street in the early days of 2019. Bamboo trees still remain today widely used as the main construction material for builders. Have a good day!!!

Modern concrete building in the making with primitive bamboo scaffolding - what a combo of building materials probably only exists is Asia! Nice observation and capture.
