Photographer's Note

The Yuen Po Street Bird Garden is one of the characteristic sights of Hong Kong...a bird market situated just a stone's throw away from the Flower Market, this is a great place for street photography. While I do not subscribe to birds being caged, it was pretty amazing to see so many of these feathered beauties being bought...not for their looks, but rather for their singing skills. The market also sells a supply of live worms and grasshoppers to keep the birds well-fed. This man had one of the biggest shops in the Bird Garden and was just taking his wares out for an airing.
