Photographer's Note
In keeping with a recent trend on TE, I am posting a shot of a person who has already been featured on TE. In this case, I am posting a shot where Kourosh has already covered (probably better than me) here. As Kourosh has mentioned, this woman works as a tout, trying to get people to sign up for boat cruises around the harbor. When I got my slides back, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had two shots of her, as I really liked Kourosh's posting. I like the OOF hand here, to me it gives a sense of the beckoning she would have been doing to entice us onto her boat. As it ended up, she was not enticing enough, we accepted a different offer. I also have photos of that tout, who knows if they will show up?

Oh Darren you got her with a nice and funny expression. good job!
i have to confess the OOF hand is not my favorite part it could be good if the whole arm was visible. parts of the hat and the scarf are out of focus too.
yet i love the expression. good shot!

very nice shot and crop. excellent DOf and i like her moving blurred hand. always funny to see the shadow of the photographer in the eyes or shades of the main subject;-) I am going to check out kourosh version now...

Interesting shot, but I'll have to venture and say that the version posted by Kourosh worked better for me. Here the compo is nice, but the hand is right smack in the middle (well almost, anyway) of the action and takes away from the image. Her expression is wonderful, and if not for the hand this would have been an excellent shot.
So how did you like Hong Kong, Darren? Apart from spending almost every hour taking pictures! :-)

hi Darren, the woman is great, i have few shots with her also. but your post processing is not special imo - the colors are faded and picture is not very sharp - maybe a bit out of focus.. but i see that you've tired to preserve all details - not to blow ou all highlights, and that's why darker parts of the picture look grayish... her expression is great though and i really like her hand OOF. good shot, but i'd process in differently
i'll try workshop, i'll add more contrast

Interestng lady.... I have a hatred of touts, I have had such huge fights with them, they get into my rickshaw in places like Udaipur, and refuse to leave...... I now threaten to break their knees.......(I am harmless actually)

As very humble beginner, I have written very few critiques (well, almost known if we define critiques) as involving constructive criticism and technical comments.
However, while trying to work with my daughter to help her (and me) learn PP, I just read the TE Guidelines. Inter alia, they said not to say bland things like "Great shot."
Unfortunately, adhering strictly to such instructions would leave me unable to say much - so, in terrible violation of the "rules," I say "Great shot!". I also add that the explanation was very helpful - especially about the OOF hand. I wouldn't have appreciated that aspect w/o the background info.
Thanks, Darren.
Dave
